Researchers at the University of Kentucky are conducting a study to examine the effects of wearing textured insoles on gait and balance, for people with Plantar Fasciitis (PF). PF is a common condition that causes pain in the heel or the bottom of the foot. Researchers will test pain levels, gait, and balance during (2) study-visits, each lasting one hour. The goal of the study is to examine if the textured insoles can improve function in people with PF.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • are 18–55 years old
  • have experienced PF for at least 3 months
  • can walk continuously at a self-selected pace for at least 20 minutes
  • have NOT had surgery on your hip, knee, or ankle involving the bones, joints, or joint-supporting tissues (does not include soft-tissue surgery that did not involve a joint)

Participants will receive $60 compensation when study visits are completed.
