CCTS Announces 2026 Mentor Training Dates

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 18, 2025) – The UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) has announced the dates for its 2026 Mentor Training opportunities, which use the CIMER Entering Mentoring Curriculum. The program is intended for UK faculty members with mentees in health or biomedical fields. Completion of this training meets requirements for serving as mentor on NIH training grants.
There is no cost to participate in this interactive, in-person training, which is offered four times per year.
Of the 2025 participants in the CCTS Mentor Training program, 100% of post-survey respondents said they felt they would be able to meet their mentees’ expectations, and 96% of felt that attending this training was a valuable use of their time.
Topics covered in the CIMER Entering Mentoring Curriculum include:
- Introduction to Mentoring
- Maintaining Effective Communication
- Aligning Expectations/Assessing Understanding
- Cultivating Ethical Behavior/Addressing Engagement and Inclusion
- Fostering Independence/Promoting Professional Development
- Articulating a Mentoring Philosophy
The 2026 Mentor Training opportunities are below. All sessions are held at the Charles T. Wethington Building, Room 127 (CTW 127). Space is limited; please register as soon as possible.
- February 28th, 2026, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (Saturday)
- May 5th, 12th, 19th, 2026, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Tuesdays)
- August 29th, 2026, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (Saturday)
- November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 2026, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (Mondays)
