COVID-19 Prevention Project

Protecting Ourselves, Our Families, and Our Communities

Researchers at the University of Kentucky need everyone’s help in understanding prevention efforts and risk related to the new COVID-19 virus. You can make a difference by completing a confidential 10 minute survey as part of the COVID-19 Prevention Project through Wellness, Health & You.

Scientists and doctors still have much to learn about the COVID-19 virus. Our social nature is part of what transmits the disease—the virus spreads between people who are near each other—so it is critically important that we understand how people are taking steps to contain the virus and what they think about risks of transmitting the virus.

The COVID-19 Prevention Project is part of the Wellness, Health & You (WHY) electronic research study, which aims to understand how different life experiences affect health. WHY members also receive health information and research participation opportunities relevant to them.

You can make a difference! By joining WHY and participating in the COVID-19 Prevention survey you will contribute to the worldwide effort to stop the pandemic.

We need all people to participate, especially groups that are historically underrepresented in health research, such as people of color, the LGBTQIA community, people with disabilities, people from rural areas, and women.

Joining WHY and taking the COVID-19 Prevention survey will take about 10-15 minutes. It will ask about your efforts to protect yourself from infection and your sense of risk for getting the virus. Understanding these aspects of the disease is crucial to our efforts to save lives, slow the rate of infection, and re-open the economy.
