Clinical Variables

Admission type, diagnosis related group, discharge status, diagnosis codes (1-5), diagnosis principle, procedure principle, procedure codes (1-15), procedure group/modifier/type, revenue code

Financial Variables

Average wholesale price, COB, coinsurance, copayment, deductible, payments and net payments (hospital, physicians), facility bill type code.  


The UK IRB has approved the use of the de-identified database to UK researchers utilizing ONLY data from the Merative Marketscan Research database. It is not to be linked with any other database. The CCTS Enterprise Data Center approved IRB protocol number for this data set is 43542.
