Researchers at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine are conducting a research study to better understand the effects of weight loss medications that are taken before a weight loss surgery.

You may be eligible to participate if you are 18 years or older and:

• qualify for laparoscopic or robotic sleeve gastrectomy, or gastric bypass surgery

• have a BMI of 40 or higher

• have NOT used nicotine in the last 30 days, or are planning to quit
