Strengthen your grant proposal in implementation science

Developing an NIH grant application in implementation science (IS) involves important decisions about research aims, implementation frameworks, strategies, study design, and measurement. This nine-session seminar series will guide you through these key components, helping you build a stronger, more cohesive proposal.

Led by Hannah Knudsen, PhD, Director of the Center for Implementation, Dissemination and Evidence-based Research (CIDER) at the University of Kentucky, the series combines expert guidance with practical resources to support your grant-writing process.

What You Will Learn

  • Formulate clear, focused specific aims
  • Choose an IS framework that fits your research question
  • Develop implementation strategies aligned with your research objectives
  • Select an appropriate study design
  • Plan measurement and analysis for implementation outcomes
  • Address key components of an NIH application, including budget and supporting materials

Who Should Attend?

The series is designed for faculty, fellows, and staff who are preparing an NIH grant application in IS or planning a future submission.

Whether you are developing a new research idea or refining an existing proposal, the sessions will provide guidance on key decisions involved in designing and writing an IS grant.

What to Expect

Each session builds on the previous one, guiding you through key components of an NIH grant application, from developing specific aims to preparing the budget. An optional workbook, session-by-session reading list, and shared presentation materials will help you explore the concepts and apply them to your own proposal.
