We are pleased to announce the availability of DataSphere, a web-based application for UK researchers to explore de-identified patient data in a similar way to i2b2.

Access DataSphere at https://datasphere.uky.edu.

Currently, DataSphere is available through Amazon Cloud from 9am-5pm EST every day. It requires a Linkblue ID to sign up and log in. You also need to be on the UK network (or on VPN) to access the website.

DataSphere has been developed by the CCTS Biomedical Informatics (BMI) Core to provide UK researchers an effective web interface to explore UK Healthcare data and identify patient cohorts for clinical research.  Researchers can build, save, and share their queries within DataSphere with several mouse clicks.

For more details about the background and significance of this tool, see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5977665.

DataSphere is under continued development and enhancement. Your feedback about its functionality and usability will be appreciated and addressed in a timely manner.

Please contact the lead developer Dr. Shiqiang Tao (shiqiang.tao@uky.edu) with any feedback or questions regarding DataSphere.
