Volunteers Invited for a Study about Teeth and Gums

Researchers at the University of Kentucky are inviting people with and without tooth and gum disease to participate in a study. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the risk factors associated to with tooth decay/cavities and periodontal disease. This will help researchers develop better risk assessments and strategies for the prevention and progression of these diseases.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

• Are 6 - 65 years old

• Are diagnosed with periodontal disease or tooth decay/cavities, or have a sibling diagnosed either of these, or are a healthy participant with no evidence of periodontal disease or dental cavities

• Have 7 or more teeth per arch (upper and lower)

• Speak English or Spanish

• Have no problem spitting (to provide saliva samples)
