Healthy Volunteers Invited for Inflammation Study
Healthy Volunteers Invited for Inflammation Study

Researchers at the University of Kentucky invite you to join a study about immune systems and inflammation. Sarcoidosis is a rare condition that causes small patches of red and swollen tissue, called granulomas, to develop in the organs of the body. It usually affects the lungs and skin. Researchers hope to learn more about how the immune system responses to sarcoidosis inflammation and if new therapeutic targets can be reached for treatment. Participation in this study requires one 30-minute visit to the clinic for a blood draw. Participants will be compensated $25 upon completion of study.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

• Are over 18 years old

• Have NO history of lung disease or granulomatous inflammatory conditions (sarcoidosis)

• Are NOT on any immune suppressant or modulator therapy

• Are relatively healthy
