LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 24, 2017) – Save the date for the 2017 Appalachian Translational Research Network (ATRN) Summit, to be held Oct. 30-31 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The theme of the conference will be “Transforming Health in Appalachia through Engaged and Translational Research.”

The ATRN is a regional platform to address the significant health challenges and disparities specific to Appalachia by enhancing research collaborations that accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries to health improvements for this region. Members include the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) centers at East Tennessee State University, Marshall University, Ohio University, PennState University, The Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Kentucky, and the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

At UK, the CTSA hub is the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, which is the founding member of the ATRN. Penn State University will host this year’s summit, which has been presented at member institutions since 2011. Registration information will follow.
