Researchers at the UK NeuroBank are working hard to better understand neurological diseases and disorders in the hopes of developing new treatments and therapies. The NeuroBank is a neuroscience-dedicated biobank that focuses on neurology patients seen at the hospital and at the Kentucky Nueuroscience Institute. With your consent, we collect biological samples (such as blood) and health information that researchers need in order to make discoveries.
We invite you to participate in a NeuroBank research study to help us!
Why should I donate?
Having biological samples to use in their studies helps researchers do their work. This will allow researchers to discover more about neurologic conditions and may also contribute to the development of disease markers and more effective therapies.
What happens if I decide to participate?
If you choose to participate, you’ll be asked to sign a consent form and NeuroBank staff will arrange the collection of your sample. If you later decide you don’t want to participate, you can contact us and withdraw at any time.
What happens if you do not want to join the study?
Participation is voluntary and if a patient chooses not to participate, they will be treated no differently.
