Nicotine Dependence Research Study

Researchers at the University of Kentucky invite you to participate in a research study. Many

adults report having at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE) before turning 18. These

experiences double the risk of depression in adults and triple the risk of using tobacco

products. Researchers want to learn more about relationships between ACEs, nicotine

dependence, and depression. Participants will be asked to complete an anonymous online

questionnaire. Participants who complete the survey will be eligible to enter a drawing for one

of twenty $50 gift cards.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

• Are over the age of 18

• Are a smoker (have smoked at least one cigarette in the past 30 days)

• Do NOT have any neurological disorders
