Drug Discovery & Development

The Drug Discovery & Development Core brings together faculty from UK’s highly successful drug development program in the College of Pharmacy and other multidisciplinary areas to provide a consultation team, the Therapeutic Advisory Panel.

Therapeutic Advisory Panel

The goal of the Therapeutic Advisory Panel (TAP) is to assist faculty with 1) the transition from biology and target identification to clinical targets, and 2) the transition from discovery through development and delivery to all phases of clinical trials and subsequent commercialization with the goal of bringing novel therapeutics to the clinic.

To schedule a consultation with the Therapeutic Advisory Panel, please complete the Drug Discovery & Development Service Request Form.

Drug Discovery & Development Pilot Opportunity
DDDPO

The primary objective of this Drug Discovery & Development Pilot Opportunity is to provide funding to support new drug discovery and development research. Specifically, the RFA supports the translation of scientific discoveries 1) from biology and target identification to clinical targets, and 2) from discovery through development and delivery to all phases of clinical trials and subsequent commercialization.

Drug Discovery & Development Team Science Opportunity
team funding

The purpose of Drug Discovery & Development Team Science Opportunity is three-fold: 1) to provide new resources to support innovative, collaborative research relevant to the health challenges and disparities faced by the nation; 2) to build the teams and obtain preliminary data necessary to compete for large extramural initiatives such as NIH Program Project/Center awards (P or U series); and 3) to stimulate integration of  the CCTS Drug Discovery and Development Core and the UK Center for Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation with other UK and national programmatic initiatives focused on drug discovery and development.

Resources

The mission of the UK College of Pharmacy's Center for Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation (CPRI) is to stimulate and enhance translational research along the drug discovery-drug development continuum by uniting UK’s state-of-the-art facilities, expertise and resources. The CPRI possesses core facilities that broadly facilitate translational research irrespective of disease focus. CPRI scientists seek to engage life science investigators across the UK community and beyond to create synergistic opportunities in research and economic development.
