Pharmacy Practice-Based Research Network
Mission
The mission of the Pharmacy Practice-Based Research Network (PBBRN) is to improve pharmaceutical outcomes through interdisciplinary translational research initiatives with community healthcare partners, by examining medication therapy management, outcomes and pharmaceutical policies.
Programs
Continuing education programs have been provided to pharmacy professionals, introducing the role of pharmacists as community partners in translational research. The Doctor of Pharmacy professional program is under revision to increase the curriculum options for advanced training in translational research that is focused on medication therapy management, pharmaceutical outcomes and policy. A graduate program in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy is under development. A two year fellowship has been developed and recruitment is underway.
Membership
The statewide community faculty partners and the clinical education centers will be the first professional groups to be targeted for training and implementation of pilot projects over the next three years. The fellow in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy will facilitate the pilot pharmacy projects.
