The Rogers Scholars Program http://rogersscholars.com/ is a one week summer session for about 100 rising high school juniors from forty-two counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. Named after U.S. Representative Hal Rogers, the program, which takes place at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, Kentucky, emphasizes technological skills development and fosters a commitment to rural Kentucky. The CAER's contribution to the program consists of a series of scientific experiments performed by scientists who travel to the group and set up experiments, in which the students participate.
