Novel Clinical and Translational Methodologies
The Clinical and Translational Methodology Development (CATMD) Committee promotes communication, collaboration and intellectual exploration of novel methodologies that support CCTS goals overall, to (1) create a true “academic home” for clinical and translational science; (2) to enhance outreach pathways to confront health issues endemic to underserved populations by identifying and disseminating nationally relevant paradigms in interdisciplinary outreach engagement; and (3) to grow the clinical and translational science research teams of the future.
The CATMD Committee brings together faculty with wide-ranging expertise in methodology development in order to:
Identify broad-based candidate methodologies and methodology resources as the focus for initial investigator “orientation” to the possibilities for Type 1 and Type 2 translation and as areas for CCTS support and funding.
Plan, develop and convene meetings, workshops, lectures and seminars designed to attract interested faculty and community practitioners to open forums on new methods.
Foster transdisciplinary collaborations to enhance and expedite emerging methodologies and stimulate new and relevant scientific directions.
Prioritize and leverage CCTS support for promising methodologies with strong potential to accelerate the translation of basic science discoveries to tangible improvements in patient care.
