The 2nd Annual REACH Symposium is a multidisciplinary research meeting aimed at fostering collaborations among UK faculty, trainees, and community-based professionals. The 2009 REACH Symposium has the following objectives:
1) Showcase REACH as the UK CCTS key function devoted to community engagement, and improve the ability of stakeholders to use REACH as a research infrastructure for the advancement of health in Kentucky and beyond.
2) Enhance the potential for the UK CCTS to support and increase translational research that will lead to improved care for underserved populations.
3) Advance diabetes translational research by having diabetes as the clinical focus for the 2009 REACH symposium.
4) Foster new linkages among UK investigators and community professionals to develop research that improves the health of Kentuckians.
