Body Composition Core Laboratory

The Body Composition Core Laboratory (BCCL), located in the Seaton Center building, is a human-based laboratory facility specifically designed to provide state-of-the-art body composition analysis for research and clinical investigations. The BCCL contains the necessary equipment to perform:

  • Total body and intra-/extra-cellular water, single and multiple frequency bioelectric impedance analyses
  • Total body and regional bone mineral content and density measurements
  • Total body density (hydrostatic weighing and air displacement plethysmography)
