Jeffrey Ebersole, PhD
Jeffrey Ebersole, PhD, associate director, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, is the Alvin L. Morris Professor of Oral Health Research, director of the Center for Oral Health Research, and associate dean for research in the College of Dentistry. Dr. Ebersole brings to the CCTS many years of experience in directing multidisciplinary research projects in oral disease, as PI of an NIDCR-funded R01 linking clinical aspects of periodontitis and microbiological variables of oral disease with HIV, and currently as PI for a multidisciplinary NIH R01 award to examine oral infections and preterm birth using a primate model. He is also Co-I of a multi-center randomized clinical trial of periodontal intervention in pregnancy, and is PI of a NCRR P20 Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) focusing on oral-systemic disease relationships.
Dr. Ebersole serves on several editorial boards, and he has been a member of NIH study sections over the last 20 years, including the NIDCR Special Emphasis Study Section with responsibility for reviewing all T, K, and F grants, and R03 submissions.
