Alan Daugherty, PhD

Alan Daugherty, PhD, associate director, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, is the associate chair of medicine and professor of medicine and physiology, holding the Gill Foundation Chair of Preventive Cardiology. Additionally, he is the senior associate dean for research, College of Medicine.

Dr. Daugherty is a cardiovascular investigator with an active research program on mechanisms of abdominal aortic aneurysm formation and serves as the director of UK’s Cardiovascular Research Center. He is currently the Principal Investigator of three NIH funded projects. Moreover, he serves on the editorial board of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology; he is an ad hoc reviewer of NHLBI Program Project Grants; and he is a Council Operations Committee member of the AHA.
